I haven't talked much about education and maybe I should just because it just occurs to me that it might be time.
Time after time, I've always wondered why we are required to go to school and get a good education. Ever since I was young, education is always a number one priority in our list. My parents always want me to have a good education. They want me to be successful and be treated nicely instead of not.
As I grew up, I just knew that education is a must and I have no other choice but go to school and graduate to get a job. Yes, as I started working, I realize many people that I work with have no college degree or even a high school diploma sometimes. And I wonder how do they survive in this harsh world. Going to school taught me many things. No, I can't stand harassment. No, I can't stand people talking down on me. No, I can't stand there and see that people are going to put me into a tough spot for no reason. I learn that I am raised with equality. Yes, the equality that I can do things without being judge whether I'm a male or female or whether I'm coming from a prestige or a lower background. I was taught that I should never let anyone hurt me mentally and physically. Interestingly enough, I've learned this lesson when I was very young and I kept them with me. Yes, when I was younger, I didn't think much about it or thought about it as deep as I thought about it now. I understand why my parents want us to have good education. I understand why my parents sacrificed things in order to give us a good place to stay. Yes, I understand why I should not take things for granted because many people wish to be in my shoes.
Am I digressing? I guess so.
But back to education... education is important. And yes, I will say it again. Education is important. It might not be important to some because they have to work in order to support themselves. But even then, learn a good skill that you can use. What I mean by education is not about just going to school, getting your master or PhD. It's about learning to do what you're good at and be an expert in that.
I'm learning myself. I'm exploring different things within my profession. If you're in economics, try to find different things that you can do with it. If you're in law, try to find different practices that fit you the most. If you're in cleaning services, try to find what you're good at about cleaning and do it with integrity. I guess I can't emphasize enough about the fact that people should do things with integrity. People should realize that without that their career will mean less to them and meaningless to others.
Do what you love but just be sure to get a good grasp of it.
Ps: My thoughts are scattered. Yes, I tend not to organize them just because I let it flow. I hope I haven't confused you yet already.
